Excellence in climate services for transformational change
This online event will explore what makes a climate service useful, fit for purpose, viable, equitable and transparent. It will also examine how climate services can stimulate transformative climate actions—both mitigation and adaptation—to address the climate crisis.
EIT Climate-KIC climate resilience expert Thomas Koetz will intervene at the session “What defines a good climate service“, taking place on 19 September at 14:00 CET. The session will feature two expert panels sharing insights on the key elements that make climate services relevant, credible, accessible, timely and transparent. They will also reflect on how to boost innovation ecosystems and foster mutually beneficial partnerships between users and providers of climate services.
During the two days, the webstival will feature plenary sessions and a series of parallel deep-dive workshops covering areas such as bridging the financial protection gap, building a health shield, storytelling for municipal services, and procuring innovative climate change services.
A novelty of this edition is the inclusion of hands-on sessions, emphasising participant engagement in using and planning climate services. This interactive approach aims to provide practical experience and a deeper understanding of the tools and strategies behind effective climate services.
