EIT Climate-KIC experts are joining Pollutec, the largest show on solutions for the environment on October 10 – 13 October 2023 at Lyon Eurexpo
Pollutec brings together the stakeholders of the ecological transition and boosts their connections: solution providers, leaders, start-ups, managers and decision-makers, project leaders, investors, elected representatives, etc. The conference is under the High Patronage of Mr Emmanuel MACRON President of the French Republic.
On Tuesday, 12 October 2023, 15:00-15:45 CET, Dr Fernando Diaz Lopez from EIT Climate KIC will speak about the Mediterranean Island Cleantech Innovation Ecosystem (MICIE), which aims to strengthen the contribution of research and innovation (R&I) to achieve the climate and energy targets of Cyprus and Malta, as defined in their National Energy and Climate Plans.
MICIE forges links across and within the two R&I ecosystems, leveraging each country’s strengths and developing synergies to address challenges – ultimately catalysing the development of innovative climate technologies and business models. The project assists Cyprus and Malta in tackling their climate innovation gap, by supporting the national authorities in both countries to update their R&I targets.
MICIE builds connected and inclusive innovation ecosystems in Cyprus and Malta and builds excellence through further cooperation with strong innovator European Member States. It thus contributes towards integration and long-term cooperation between the two islands in the field of climate R&I.
