Masterclass presented by Assim Ishaque
A multi award-winning inventor, entrepreneur and environmentalist, driven to make a positive impact on the environment and society. Assim has been working across the cleantech sector, leading sustainability initiatives for billionaire property owners, government departments and local authorities.
He has been involved in over $2 billion of cleantech projects, including wind farms, new bioenergy technology, waste to energy innovations, electronic waste recycling, solar energy manufacturing and most recently commercialising a retrofit energy efficiency system for residential property. He is also an inventor of an interesting pixel art toy system too!
His career has been equally broad, starting with HSBC Bank, sales and marketing in the FMCG sector and communication technology for Virgin Media. He later founded his cleantech and sustainability company, Envirup and served on the board of the Forestry Commission in the UK, supported the HRH Prince of Wales initiative for entrepreneurs The Princes Trust and is a board member of a successful school. He was elected as a member of The Energy Institute, was a registered Chartered Energy Manager and took a short break from his own companies when leading the commercialising research at Birmingham City University in digital media, artificial intelligence systems and virtual reality.
Following his review of business education and accelerators he formed ‘The Entrepreneurs Trust’ to educate founders to understand the reality of business and better prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead. Assim podcasts inspiring conversations to support the start-up community. He supports innovators through growth challenges, creates his own unique seminars and is a conference speaker on entrepreneurship.
