This highly engaging and practical course will give you a fresh perspective on how to be a fearless entrepreneur. It is designed for entrepreneurs, founders and those responsible to develop a team, to engage investors, to mobilise a supply chain and to drive customer demand.

This pro-active two-day masterclass links in with TechstarsStart-up Week Dublin – an international must-attend event for entrepreneurs seeking networking and investment opportunities (free entrance but registration is required).

 

Objectives and outcomes

In this two-day intensive workshop, participants will:

  • Understand what it takes to be a CEO/ Leader. We will create a safe environment to talk about things that can go wrong in business, including your own experience. We will learn from experienced CEOs, who have learned from their mistakes. 
  • Be a Future Focused Leader – the tools that work. Optimism is an essential tool to grow your business but we will provide you with a 10 year to 100 day plan that will allow you to act quickly with clear business objectives in mind.
  • Communicate their ideas – lean how to communicate your vision and plan. You need to engage and build relationships and trust with your team, your investors, your customers –learn some quick and simple communication tools that will help you do this.
  • Understand why personal leadership is important. We will speak with sustainability leaders from local authorities, corporates and energy utilities/ agencies who will talk about driving change within their own organisations and their own supply chain.
  • Learn how to lead in extreme circumstances. As a CEO/ founder you try to ensure that everything stays on track, and all the plates keep spinning. But things can go wrong. So, what happens when things go wrong? Using his experience as a former Special Forces professional, our guest speaker will help us understand how to take ownership and be a leader in extreme circumstances (or when the plates stop spinning).

This not an ‘inspiration’ event. It will be a proactive workout, where you’ll learn new to use new tools that will quickly become your entrepreneurial essentials. This will be an entertaining and engaging workshop with the Listen, Learn and Live process. You will take back an action plan to give you greater confidence in your achieving your business ambitions. We are going to have fun, laugh and learn together. You will also get the opportunity for a one to one session to talk about any business concerns you might have.

Trainer Profiles

Ron Immink

Ron is a Dutch/Irish entrepreneur with extensive experience in entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, strategy, innovation and SME engagement. He helps companies to ensure their future by improving their business models, working directly with the CEO or owner. He is an author, speaker and entreprenerd.

Unique wide perspective: Ron has worked with universities, membership organisations, corporate clients, government departments, public agencies and worked with hundreds of businesses, giving him a unique spectrum of perspectives on running businesses in highly complex environments.

Business: He is a founding partner of StrategyCrowd, part of the coaching team of tibor.nl and he is the entrepreneur in residence for Sustainable Nation, where is he is tasked with setting up establishing a green intrapreneurship accelerator, focusing on the finance and insurance sector.

Erwin van Beek

Erwin van Beek is a Dutch consultant, specialising in extreme leadership. He is a former international judo and crossfit Athlete with multiple international medals.

Erwin started in the armed forces and military police. Worked for the Dutch Police Academy for SWAT education and other SF forces. Built 25 Years of research/experience on Physical/mental and Reality based training for Law enforcement and military in general. Still working as consultant and trainer in USA/Middle East (worldwide).

Paul Hayes

Paul Hayes is one of Europes’ leading technology strategists. He is also consigliere to many of Ireland’s leading tech founders and investors. He hosts or leads a range of sector-shaping initiatives from Startup Wakes to Flounders in Europe and the US.

As the internal communications lead at companies like Havok and Demonware he shaped exciting new communication strategies for a whole sector of games middleware early in his career. He has worked with indigenous companies like Intercom to grow their global profile in a completely new sector from startup to scale up. Internationally, he also works with the founders and CEO’s of global technology companies to enhance their public profiles across EMEA and beyond.

Never happier than when mentoring early stage startups he has developed and delivered programmes for the NDRC, Ryan Academy and Dogpatch to hundreds of startups based on his now legendary ‘10 Communication Rules for Startups’. He has also implemented innovative marketing strategies at international trade shows such as GDC and SxSW. He was a founder of Games Ireland and is known as one of the best connectors in the tech ecosystem.

Originally from Tipperary, Hayes has lately developed a passion for cycling and leads trips across the world with founders, funders and flounders.

Barry O’Reilly

Barry O’Reilly is a business advisor, entrepreneur, and author who has pioneered the intersection of business model innovation, product development, organizational design, and culture transformation.

Barry works with business leaders and teams from global organizations that seek to invent the future, not fear it. Every day, Barry helps with many of the world’s leading companies, from disruptive startups to Fortune 500 behemoths, break the vicious cycles that spiral businesses toward death by enabling culture of experimentation and learning to unlock the insights required for better decision making, higher performance and results.

Barry is the author of Unlearn: Let Go of Past Success to Achieve Extraordinary Results, and co-author of the international bestseller Lean Enterprise: How High Performance Organizations Innovate at Scale—included in the Eric Ries series, and a Harvard Business Review must read for CEOs and business leaders. He is an internationally sought-after speaker, frequent writer and contributor to The Economist, Strategy+Business, and MIT Sloan Management Review. Barry is faculty at Singularity University, advising and contributing to Singularity’s executive and accelerator programs based in San Francisco, and throughout the globe.

Barry is the founder of ExecCamp, the entrepreneurial experience for executives, and management consultancy Antennae. His mission is to help purposeful, technology-led businesses innovate at scale.
