Maribor Climathon: Green resilient Maribor
The Climate-KIC Climathon is a global 24-hour climate change event which will take place simultaneously in major cities around the world on 28 October 2016.
In Maribor, the Climate-KIC Climathon will begin at 3pm Thursday afternoon, 27th October and finish on the following day. It is organised by the Institute Intercer – Institute for sustainable development and holistic solutions.

The Challenge
Challenge 1: How to increase the green public spaces and enhance their multi-functionality.
Micro climate in cities is already changing, urban spaces and infrastructure are becoming vulnerable and have to be adapted accordingly. The role of green infrastructure as an adaptation measure will be increasingly important for city. What are the best ways to develop the role of green infrastructure for cities?
Challenge 2: What kind of cooperation of institutions, NGOs and companies is necessary to transform a city into a green resilient city? Implementation of solutions can be postponed or hindered due to lack of communication, info and cooperation between institutions. What are the best ways and tools to align the interests and foster transition?
Pitching to expert judges
The Climathon event will culminate in presentation of each group’s idea in front of panel members who will provide valuable feedback. The panel is comprised of different science and business experts.
