Climate-KIC Start-up Boot Camp in Laax/Flims

News 12 Jul 2017

Collaboration and mutual respect are key to business success

Anyone who thinks that the start-up business is just about knocking out competitors, whilst getting your own business into the spotlight, clearly has a narrow view of what successful entrepreneurship looks like. During the boot camp in Laax/Flims on 5 and 6 July 2017, 8 Climate-KIC start-up teams broadened their horizons, collaborated and shared best practice.

The teams focused on defining the beachhead market, managing cash-flow and designing a professionally structured action plan. They were also trained in how to identify, approach and talk to potential customers and how to frame a compelling story around their business strategies. A common theme through all the workshops was the importance of knowledge creation through collaborative work and respect for each other.

Only one team could claim the prize for the best pitch, sponsored by Weisse Arena Gruppe, but all returned with plenty of new insights into innovation and learning through collaboration. Weisse Arena Gruppe and Climate-KIC are determined that this event will not be the last collaboration of its kind, given the positive feedback from the start-ups, coaches and professionals involved.
