Climate KIC to showcase its top 30 cleantech startups during Slush 2018

News 27 Nov 2018

Climate KIC is gearing up for this year’s edition of Slush, the world’s leading startup event that will bring 20,000 guests to the startup scene in Helsinki, Finland. For the occasion, we are presenting 30 of the most promising companies from our cleantech startup accelerator—the world’s largest of its kind.

We had a chat with two of these teams: Zeleros, with its Hyperloop, a new means of ground transportation that can carry passengers and cargo at speeds of over 1000 km/h inside low-pressure tubes, and Qista, a green and innovative mosquito control solution.

David Pistoni, Co-founder and CEO of Zeleros Hyperloop, is excited for the opportunities being showcased at SLUSH will bring: “We will be looking for industrial partners to support our development projects in working towards industry standards and investors who want to make a real change in transportation and benefit from a fast-growing market.”

Considering that Europe is “a big area for Hyperloop right now”, Slush provides them with a great opportunity to broaden their access to major European actors and hopefully new partners.

Simon Lillamand from Qista is also looking forward to meeting investors and the hopes to raise capital for his company. As he puts it: “The more traction you get, the more power you have to make the best deal.”

Receiving the support of Climate KIC is helping them build credibility, and he said that being selected as one of the top 30 cleantech startups has been a big help to increase their visibility, especially among investors. The company recently received two CES Innovation Awards and we are looking forward to seeing what’s next for them.
