The University of Trento is a medium-sized university, founded in 1962. It is a young, dynamic, research-oriented institution, marked by high-level teaching opportunities and facilities. The university has 11 Departments, 3 University Centres and 64 graduate courses, hosts over 600 professors and researchers and more than 16,000 students. It represents a reference point for research excellence and education at a national and international level.
The University of Trento is involved in research, education and innovation in several areas covered by the KIC Climate. It combines competences and skills developed in different areas of specialisation among which, notably, activities driven by three out of four climate change themes identified by the Climate KIC, namely: Urban Transitions, Sustainable Production Systems and Sustainable Land Use.
These three domains are coherent with several research areas and units of Departments and Research Centres within the University bringing together scientists from multiple fields, clustered around a combination of practical, innovative and interdisciplinary scientific research across many disciplines related to the green world around us and the sustainable use of our living environment.
