Ecoligo closes a finance gap for solar projects in emerging markets by financing these via its online platform.
The financing platform offers crowdinvestors the opportunity to invest in sustainable solar projects. The crowd can already invest with small amounts and receives a fixed interest rate, higher than with conventional banking products.
After two years, ecoligo clusters projects into validated portfolios in order to cater the crowds’ needs for fast return on investment and refinances them through institutional investors, development banks and foundations.
All projects have not only to pass a technical and financial due diligence but also fulfil social and ecological criteria.
By doing so, the Berlin-based start-up realizes climate friendly solar projects, improves the security of supply in developing countries and provides an attractive financial return to the crowd.
